Job Summary

Beacon Technologies is seeking a Sr. Systems Programmer Analyst for our client partner. With minimal supervision, identifies and designs most efficient computer programs and cost-effective solutions through research and evaluation of alternatives. Participates in the analysis of information system problems and the development of solutions to these problems and provides support and assistance to the Application Development team as well as other business units. Possesses unique or specific business knowledge related to IS application that is frequently sought out by others. Prepares detail program specifications and flowcharts, and coordinates system installations with the user department and analyst ensuring satisfactory results. Encodes, tests, debugs, and installs the operating programs and procedures in coordination with computer operations and user departments. Assignments principally involve complex and involved coding and analysis. An expert resource on development environments/programming languages. (May participate in applications on call support rotation which includes 24x7 for critical systems.)

Project Assignments - 60%

  • Develop strong relationships with business partners and collaborate with business and IT to design work products that meet the business needs.
  • Prepares detail project feasibility studies, formulate complete system scope, project cost, time estimates and human resource and IT infrastructure requirements for new and existing application software systems.
  • Create detailed technical programming specifications for development.
  • Perform application analysis, design, coding, and other complex programming tasks from general requirements.
  • Provides complete documentation for new or modified information systems and/or application software programs, including operational procedures and manuals.
  • Regularly communicate with stakeholders on the status of work products.
  • Design, build, test, secure and deploy solutions in Salesforce and MuleSoft Cloud Hub.
  • Implement integration across on-prem, 3rd party and cloud applications.
  • Conform to security and governance requirements
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the work product from both a technical and business acumen and successfully transfer the knowledge to other system programmers in a manner that allows staff to fully support the work product.

Production Support - 25%

  • Provide day-to-day application and administration support for a wide range of applications and systems.
  • Performs and manages software upgrades working closely with stakeholders and vendors.
  • Maintains accurate log entries of contact with resolution details and follow-up information. Revise operation and procedure manuals when applicable.
  • Identify issues/causes and devise procedures to solve complex problems.
  • Communicates issues, enhancements, and implementations to stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Develop policies and procedures that allow for efficiencies in supporting work products.
  • Assists, directs, trains and coordinates the work of less experienced systems programmer analysts. Answer technical and procedural questions for less experienced team members; teaching improved processes; mentoring team members. 10%
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge, and health insurance knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies, and continuing education.
  • Leads and assist in introducing new, relevant technologies and making recommendations to management/business that include benefits and cost analysis.

Qualifications:

  • Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Programming, or Associate's degree in Information Technology or Programming, or High school equivalency.
  • Required Experience: With bachelor's degree, four (4) years of experience in programming and systems analysis, or associate's degree, seven (7) years of experience in programming and systems analysis, or high school equivalency, ten (10) years of experience in programming and systems analysis.

Preferred Experience:

  • Insurance industry experience.
  • Experience working in Sales Cloud/Service Cloud and Marketing Cloud.
  • Experience using IDE, Build and CI/CD tools such as Visual Studio Code, Anypoint. Studio, Maven, GitHub, Copado. Experience with Agile Framework.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated expertise in two or more of the following:
  • Application Development, C#, ASP.NET, HTML, XML, JavaScript, jQuery, SQL, Multi-tier development, Object Oriented Design, and CSS.SOAP/REST APIs, API Security, Web Services, Apex, SOQL/SOSL, Visualforce, LWC, Salesforce.com APIs, MuleSoft Cloud Hub, ESB, RAML, Mule APIs, Mule Connectors.
  • Ability to learn other programming languages.
  • Extensive knowledge of both system and business applications and interfaces.
  • Competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities.
  • Ability to work as part of a team in an open environment that facilitates collaboration and information exchange.
  • Ability to assist, train and mentor less experienced staff.
  • Demonstrates an enhanced ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, in business and technical language, to other IT and business associates.
  • Works well under pressure and adaptable to change.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and complete timely.
