Job Summary

Beacon Technologies is seeking a Facilities Technician for our client partner. The Facilities Technician will be responsible for coordinating and performing tasks related to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and custodial work. The Facilities Technician will serve as the point of contact for HVAC, plumbing, security, and fire alarm calls, ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of the properties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and occasionally perform tasks related to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and custodial work.
  • Manage multiple vendors responsible for maintaining facility elements (mechanical, HVAC, landscaping).
  • Serve as the point of contact for HVAC, plumbing, security, and fire alarm calls.
  • Identify additional maintenance needs at properties and partner with vendors involving work orders and accountability.
  • Routinely inspect buildings, equipment, and systems to identify any issues and perform necessary repairs.
  • Perform minor repairs and renovations, such as replacing light bulbs, patching walls, fixing minor plumbing issues.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance by regularly inspecting and servicing building systems, including HVAC units, electrical panels, plumbing fixtures, fire alarms, and lighting.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance issues such as power outages, water leaks, and security system malfunctions.
  • Coordinate with outside contractors for specialized repairs or maintenance tasks that require expertise beyond the Facilities Technician's skillset.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Motivated self-starter with strong work initiative.
  • Strong communication skills, effectively communicating with building occupants, and outside contractors.
  • Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry systems.
  • Proficiency in using a variety of hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose the root cause of equipment malfunctions and find effective solutions.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
  • Attention to detail, completing tasks accurately and thoroughly to prevent recurring issues.
